So she got a new bike for her birthday. We gave it to her a couple weeks ago because the weather was getting nicer and everyone had spring-fever. The helmet was too big so we got her a new one. But looking back at these pics… Man! Doesn’t she look like a little Strawberry Shortcake [...]

One of my favorite christian people (2nd only to Ruth) is a woman named Ellie. She runs the ladies bible study on tuesday morning, and I have such incredible respect for her. Not only does she have a fierce love for God and a strong knowledge of His Word, but she’s also very encouraging, thoughtful, [...]

My friend Ruth called and said, “I was looking at pictures today of us from 10 years ago… we were really cute! I mean, I was thin, you were thin…we were really cute!” LOL Anyway, we got to talking about how lazy we can be sometimes and why that’s not good in any [...]

Youth Lesson

Rich, our youth pastor, has been doing this “christian paparazzi” lesson for the last couple weeks. The point is that the kids need to pursue God like the paparazzi pursue celebrities. Last week he showed a clip from Lord of the Rings… the one where Frodo is standing at the edge of Mt. Doom, holding [...]

Last night Jason went to Keegan’s parent/teacher conference by himself. Dev fell asleep, and I didn’t feel like waking the beast. Anyway, he’s doing really well. She said he’s very sweet in class and she never has any problems with him and that “Keegan’s all about getting his work done. He comes in, sits [...]

I absolutely loved Tyler Perry’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman. It was funny and heart-wrenching and by the end of it I was in full blown sobs when the addict/wife comes into the church singing praises to Jesus.
Tyler Perry has a second film out now starring his prominent character from the first [...]

220

Our youth group, which calls itself “220″ (from a Galatians verse) will have some major transitions coming very soon. Our youth pastor and his wife will be stepping down from ministry in a couple weeks. Depending on which rumors you want to believe, they’re having some overall marital problems and, after discussing it with [...]
