“So here’s the thing…

Sunflake memories

I was sitting at the kitchen table the other day enjoying a bowl of cereal, which means it was probably 4 in the afternoon since no one in this house actually eats cereal for breakfast. Anyway, I remembered something that made me chuckle so I thought I’d tell it here. Jay will laugh.

My big brother and I used to sit at the table eating our cereal together with the box between us and play this goofy game. He’d have the “nutritional information” side facing him and have me guess the amount of sugar, protein, riboflavin, etc… And it went a little something like this:

“Ok. Grams of sugar?”
“5″
“higher”
“30″
“lower”
“20″
“lower”
“10″
“higher”
“11″
“higher”
“12″
“yep. ok. Percent of Iron.”
“10″
“higher” …

Sad, isn’t it? LOL!

Oh man, I’m so glad he doesn’t make me play that game. Good grief!

And really, don’t you think cereal should just be banned from the face of the universe? No one can eat it for breakfast because it’s so high in carbs that 1/2 hour later you’re shaking for need of protein and it’s what like $4 a box! Man!

    LOL

  2. Jay:

Oh c’mon J’me — don’t sell yourself short. You’d usually guess A LOT quicker than THAT.

  3. J'me:

Are you kidding me Deb?! Banned?! Good grief woman! Cereal ROCKS! (never for breakfast though, you’re right about that.) I’ll actually walk down the cereal isle and just grab whatever is on sale for $2/box. There are always sales because of people like me who eat it as a snack. It’s right up there with Mac n Cheese! :o) Jay, dude, what are you teaching her?! ;-)

  4. Jay:

Hey … I don’t know what to tell you. She picked that up long before I met her. This is the same girl who will eat pretty much anything for breakfast. I can’t stand to watch her. She’ll pull out the leftover dinner from the night before and heat it up. Ugh. It’s breakfast food or nothing for me.

  5. Jay:

Yo. It’s 2006. Where you at?
